After a lengthy illness at his home at RR 1, Millgrove, on Friday, August 22, 1986, John McArthur Eaton , in his 64th year, beloved husband of Alma Eaton. Dear father of Michelle and Michael, both of Toronto. Loved son of Mrs. Lillian Eaton of Cambridge (P). Dear brother of Dora Cummings of Kars, Ontario, Glen Eaton of Elmwood, Ontario, Mearney Branston of Guelph, Bruce Eaton of Addis Ababa, Ethiopia and Ishbel Massey of Lions Bay, B.C. Friends will be received Saturday 7-9 and Sunday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. At the KITCHING-STEEPE FUNERAL HOME, 146 Mill Street North, Waterdown. Funeral arrangements to be announced.

Obituary:

Quietly at home in Waterdown, on September 28, 1996, in his 87th year. Predeceased in 1989 by his wife Julia (nee Fleming). Survived by his sister Margaret and many nieces, nephews and their progeny. Noel was the last living grandson of Timothy Eaton and received his 25th Century watch for Service with the Eaton Knitting Company Limited, Hamilton in 1956. As President Emeritus of the International Amateur Radio Union of which he was President from 1974-1982, Noel maintained his lifelong interest and involvement in amateur radio. His last on air was to his “Radio Pals” on Canada Day this year. A Memorial Service for family and friends will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, October 9, 1996, at GRACE ANGLICAN CHURCH, 157 Mill Street North, Waterdown, Ontario. Reception to follow. The family wishes to thank the devoted staff of Para-Med Health Services who so specially cared for him round the clock these past few months. Noel’s favourite charity was the Cancer Society. On April 1, 2000, at the Versa Care Centre in his 77th year. Beloved husband of Muriel (Rickards). Dear brother of Helen and Richard Wirth of Binbrook and Catherine and James Mackan of Sault Ste. Marie. Son of the late Joseph and Adeline Edwards. Predeceased by sister Patricia Hohn. Frank was a long time amateur radio operator and Past President of the Hamilton Radio Club (1954). Former owner of Tate Engravers. Memorial Service at M.A. CLARK & SONS FUNERAL HOME, 567 Upper Wellington Street, Mount Hamilton on Tuesday, April 4 at 2 p.m. Inurnment to follow at a later date.
