Obituary

March 17, 1926 – October 1, 2013
It is with deep sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Doug. “Head of the Family” was only one of many hats he got to wear in life. Husband to Betty, and previously Edith. Father to Valerie, Vicki, Debbie, Roberta, and Sandra. Second Father to Terry, George, Peter, Bill, Tony, Doug and Ian. Grandfather to Terry, Kyle, Samantha, Andrew, William and Tracy. Great Grandfather to Hudson, Scarlett, Madeline, Charlotte and Harper. At the young age of 17, he joined the RCAF as a radio operator, a profession that would serve him the rest of his life. His interest in Radio led him to the new technology of the day, Television, where he would go on to pioneer the introduction of hospital television rentals in Canada securing 90% of all patient beds in Canada. Successful in business, but more successful in life, he will be forever be loved by all who had the benefit of knowing him. A celebration of Doug’s life will be held on Saturday October 12, 2013 at the Glancaster Community Centre, Mt. Hope from 5 to 10 p.m. All are welcome.

Donations can be made to the Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum.
